Cinque Terre

The legendary five villages of Cinque Terre, Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore cling dramatically to the cliff sides of the Ligurian coast. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this stretch of coastline offers turquoise waters, colourful houses, fresh seafood and breathtaking panoramas.

From Casa Valle Verde you can reach Cinque Terre in just 25 minutes by car, or take the scenic train from Brugnato along the coast.

HIKING & NATURE

Sentiero Azzurro

The Blue Trail

The Sentiero Azzurro is the most famous hiking path in Cinque Terre, connecting all five villages along the clifftops above the Ligurian Sea. With spectacular views at every turn, one of Italy’s most iconic walks.

The Val di Vara also offers its own beautiful trails through chestnut forest, riverside walks along the Vara, and quiet country roads perfect for cycling.

GULF OF POETS

Golfo dei Poeti

The Gulf of Poets, beloved by Byron, Shelley and D.H. Lawrence encompasses the medieval villages of Portovenere, Lerici and the tiny hamlet of Tellaro. With their coloured facades, ancient castles and crystal-clear water, they offer a quieter, more intimate alternative to Cinque Terre.

All are within easy reach of Casa Valle Verde for a perfect day trip.

Portofino Regional Park

Just over an hour from Casa Valle Verde, the Portofino Regional Natural Park protects one of the most beautiful promontories in the Mediterranean. Hiking trails wind through lush Mediterranean scrub to spectacular viewpoints, secluded bays and the world-famous village of Portofino itself.

A wonderful day trip combining nature, glamour and some of the most beautiful seascapes in Italy.
